According to Leftlane news, Audi will bring a 3.0L TDI clean diesel to the U.S. market in 2008. The first vehicle will be the Q7 and then the all new A4. No time frame was announced, just 2008.
Output for the 3.0L TDI V6 is rated at 240 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque. Despite all that power, Audi claims the new engine is 35% more efficient than a comparable gasoline engine and can get up to 40 mpg highway. The engine is also clean enough to earn it certification in all 50 states. more

80 % Audi cars in Europe are diesel TDI. In Spain is same here, there are A2, A3, A4, A6, A8 and Q7 in different TDI engines, 1.4 TDI, 1.9 TDI, 2.0 TDI, (4 cil) 2.5 TDI, 3.0 TDI (6 ci)...manual or automatic transmission. I had Audi A4 1.9 TDI and it runs a lot and we drive miles and miles... I think it is good idea, send in US Audi diesel.
