  • Been looking around at what cars are available over this side of the pond. The above model is available here with the MB 300D engine.

Is it available in the States or Canada? Anybody had any experience with the vehicle - either as a petrol or diesel model.

  • I wish it was available in a diesel here. Looks like the Dodge Magnum.

I will say that I've been driving a Chryslter Pacifica for a year and am quite pleased (knock on wood).

  • Here in North America you get either the 6 or 8 cylinder gasoline engine. I'll bet this is nice with the MB diesel ... and some fake wood contact vinyl stuck on the sides? Stick out tongue I posted that last bit just to see who was reading.  BTW, the gasonline 6.2L Hemi RT version will get up and skoot  ... not bad for a station wagon.

  • What's wrong with wood paneling? Wink

I know someone who has one and it is a ripping beast if he wants it to move.

What's really cool about these is, when at rean static rpm, up to 4 of the cylinders will stop firing (or having fuel injected). The moving mass is greater, but the engine effectively becomes a 4-cylinder when not under load, improving fuel mileage substantially.

  • I am told that from 0 to 80 the 300D will stay right up with the V8 on accelaration but where the real power comes in is in the overtaking at highway speeds. The 300D leaves the V8 behind here.

Just been looking and was keen to hear others comments. Same diesel engine has been fitted to the Jeep Grand Cherokee over here while the smaller Cherokee has the 2.8 donk.
