With the rapid increase of oil's price, the biodiesel industry develops quickly in China. The production capacity is only about 100 thousand t/a in 2006, but it might expand to 1 million t/a or even more in 2010. The capacity of the plants designed is more than 5 million t/a at the end of 2006.
The main feedstock is waste oil now. However, canola oil, cotton seed oil and wild plant oil such as jatropha seed oil are potential feedstock for china biodiesel in the near future. More and more MNCs enter into this area in China, such as Lurgi. I has been working in this area for more than 3 years and I am quite familiar with the stats of China biodiesel industry. If one has any questions, you can contact with me without any hesitation.
