    non-toxic jatropha

I am interested in learning more about non-toxic jatropha.  Are there any plantations cultivating and harvesting non-toxic jatropha?  What are the names of the non-toxic varieties?  As far as I can tell, all non-toxic varieties came from Mexico. TIA

I have been looking into the non-toxic veriaty for a while!   There is some info out there but I haven't been able to locate a source.  Non toxic jatropha has been reported from the Yucatan  and Veracruse  areas of Mexico.  It is reported that the locals roast the nuts before eating them.   My wife just got back from the Yucatan;  I sent with here some Jatropha nuts I got from India and a drawing of the seed clusters.   The research I had found said that the local name was( Pinocello),  a spanish name.   As it turns out,  the locals who actually know about this plant speak Myan------and are not familiar with the Spanish name.

I live in so. Calif.  and there are a lot of folks up here from these parts of mexico.  I am working on getting some seeds sent up here.

Hey Frank let me know if you find the name of the variety and get a hold of seeds. I have a friend living in Mexico who is interested in planting a tree as a test.
