    EMISSIONS??

I hope this is not going to sound too naive, but what IS the actual emission of B100??? Somebody told me that it emits nitros oxide. True? What elseStick out tongue

Generally emissions from a well maintained diesel engine will all be lower than for regular diesel except for NOx which have been documented to be upto 10% higher. (there does seem to be some research recently published that suggest that this may not be the whole story and that in some cases even the NOx is reduced although I have not read it so I am not exactly sure what was tested)

Have a look at some of the documents on the NBB website, there is a lot of information there about emissions from Biodiesel. www.biodiesel.org

I'm just asking, since I get that question a lot about the emission benefits. And I can't really say zero, without facts to back it up.

There will never be zero emissions from a diesel engine (any combustion will have some form of emissions) they are just typically less (except NOx) with Biodiesel than Petrochem diesel.

Not true. The Nitrogen containing products from the combustion of Biodiesel are NO (Nitrogen Monoxide) and NO2 (Nitrogen Dioxide), not Nitrous Oxide (N2O). Burning Biodiesel produces more NOx than burning normal diesel - not a good thing - but catalytic means have been suggested to reduce such output. Other primary products from the combustion of Biodiesel are water vapor, CO (Carbon Monoxide**), and CO2 (Carbon Dioxide), with the latter two having significantly reduced net output when compared to regular diesel.
