Methanol works better for Biodiesel production. Use the site's "Search" feature if you want more detail.

Ouch. That's really quite high. I don't have an answer, but I suspect you can get a better price.

    Re: Methanol/ehtonal

    Hey,

If I tell you where to buy Methanol for $2.56 5/10 per gallon, and they truck it to you, would you tell me where you buy that insurance coverage of $1,000,000. for the Food and Ag grease transport License? They also have KOH @ 90%, and NaOH for your Biodiesel pleasures. Call Nicole at Univar located in San Jose, CA 1 800 659-5908, Product code 298001 for the methanol and product code 706490 for KOH $1.14 per pound. Now, with this info in hand, you can have a wonderful time making Biodiesel until the grease cops sniff you out and shut you down until you buy some kind of stupid insurance policy for one millions dollars. They don't get it. They think the folks who are making biodiesel are going to spill vegetable oil and create a toxic mess. So we have to buy $1,000,000 insurance just in case we slop our drippers and we spill some vegetable oil. Go figure it, we can carry hundreds of gallons of nasty dino diesel in 55 gallon drums without any special license or insurance, we can buy hundreds of gallons of soy oil from Costo and drive around all day and night without and license or special insurance. I wonder why the law makers passed this one. Better thing to wonder about is how much did they receive in election donations from the fat rendering assoc's big money political action lobbiest ?!?! Very strange how the law makers pass a law that puts a stop to biodiesel production. Not very environmental friendly for this day and age. If anyone is interested about how their elected law makers voted on this one issue, just look me up on my posting and let me know where you live and I can tell you how they voted.

    Greaser,

That all sounds very unfriendly towards biofuelers. Where are you located, CA? Yep, CA. Found your other post
