    Marc,

    Thanks!

rhodotorula glutinis I searched for this yeast and provide the following link. After reading it seemsd this yeast is nasty to humans, especially those with immune system deficiencies.

    hello marc,

can you tell me which laboratory was used to determine the lipid content? is the composition of the lipid useable in the biodiesel process or is the lipid not useable. Lastly, if i wanted to find the lipid content of the algae in my pond here in florida, can you recommend a laboratoiry to do this as well as tell me what kind of algae i have?

    thank you very much

    jack

ps please also email me a response if possible

    Hi jack,

we derived the lipid content info from  published data by various universities and researchers, look up lipid content on the internet and youll find lots of. date each supporting the findings of others so i assume that the published data is reliable.. I have said in the past on these forums that published lipid content is not necessary an indicator that it is useable lipid for transesterification there are many types of lipids. it is our intention to test each algae to determine which are useable, and most of our clients who buy our algae are doing research on this also with great results but im not at liberty to disclose thier findings.

as to the molds and fungi again, we derived the data from published data from universities and scientific organisations what is different in the case of molds and fungi that the published data used the word oil instead of lipids. we made a small amount of biodiesel from one of our algae but i got sick from a faulty ventilation system and quit untill i can make improvements to the ventillation system hexane is a one way trip to cancer not like methanol poisoning which can be reversed by drinking ethanol which fools the metabolism and stops the symtoms. I got enough exposure to dangerous chemicals in the army medical research command for which i received a commendation for performance above and beyond the call of duty  im not risking cancer doing research for this... not untill i have the right equipment in place.and i  repeatedlycaution evrybody Hexane is dangerous but it works  and is industry standard for oil extraction of all types.

    thank you marc,

but can you tell me the name of a laboratory testing algae for lipid contant and also determine what lipids they have or if the lipid would be usable for biodiesel?
