Don't be so close minded. I never said bio doesn't work - it WORKS! So does DSE if mixed properly and requires less time involved. I'm talking about the free fatty acids that remain unburnt if you use Methanol. The acids accumulate over time on the cylinder walls and round the pistons and rings. This causes severe blow-by problems. Then, you have a major overhaul. It really doesn't matter anyway, because you are going to have to rebuild a motor at one point or another. It doesn't matter if you use Bio or Reg old diesel blend. All we're talking about here is the price savings /gal. When I mix up 50 gallons of DSE and add the additives it makes 59.5 gal of product, that costs .67 cents a gallon. Look into it and you do the math. Products may cost more or less, depending where you live.

How am I being close-minded? I didn't say it didn't work, I said it was crap. My Mercedes will run the crap for thousands of miles, it works, but it doesn't work well and will shorten my engine's life. I can make oil-based paint work, but that doesn't mean I will use it.

PS. I FOUND DIESEL SECRETS SUCH A JOKE, I MADE A COMPLAINT TO THE ...: LA. STATE , ATTORNEY GENERALS OFFICE.....:)
My methanol is pumped at the local dragstrip. Their fuel store is open all year. I filled my last drum for $209 (I erred above, the cost is $3.80 a gallon). I get lye through a local chemical supplier, and most recently paid $89 for a 25 kilo bag of 90% KOH.
Hello I am a newbee with some basic questions.
I got the DSE and tried it on my 03 Golf TDI GLS and it worked just fine, no power or starter difference with regular fuel or bio-diesel.
Have any tests like dipping seals in the DSE for weeks/months/years benn done by anyone to see if any ware could be found?
Any other test on the fuel beside looking for sediments? (and ofr that matter on ANY diesel/bio fuels. I understand the coking by glycerin/parafin of the engine is a longer range problem, more difficult to evidence, but what would be any early signs of that?
Also DSE seems very attractive to me because not only it is indeed extremly fast and inexpensive to make as compared to biodiesel (with methoxyde) , but more importanly there is no waste as compared to the 20% glycerin waste from making biodiesel. So if all elements are compatible individually and in mixture with the engines, why not use it, which I did?
Anyhone else tried it? On what kind of engine?

There is zero evidence DSE fixes any of these issues.

Hiya JT, i'm new to this whole D.S.E. thing and i've spent about 400.00 at home depot, napa auto, lowes etc. Just got my prototype built and mixed my first batch today. Gonna start runnin it in my 2001 Ford F-250. Figured I still have a half tank of petro in there and just wanna see how the ol pickup runs with like a 50/50 mix. It does look real oily commin out of the last filter but i'm not real worried about it. I've done some extensive research and am in contact with the owner of completedieselsystems in Lafyette Louisianna. He's a young dude that has been runnin D.S.E. in his F250 and tractors for a few years and swears by it. Guess all i'm sayin is that i'd like to be in contact with more D.S.E. users so's we can compare the results...cool man, holler back. Are you in San Diego? Cheers, Bat Boy
Bat Boy: I've done some extensive research
No, i'm not a scientist or professional researcher...just some one who looks for useful info online. I've heard a lot of good and bad about D.S.E...you can always check newenergyreport.org, diesel secret debunk, and if you'd like to read more posts and comments from pros and cons go to infopop.com. I believe that there really has'nt been enough studies on whether or not long term use is either good or bad for your diesel engine. All I know is what i've heard from folks who use it with success. It seems to me that a lot of the naysayers came out and voiced their opinion back in 03' when D.S.E. began their operation. Most of them were folks that had money invested in their biodiesel set ups, that leads me to believe that they may have been a little bummed that they could do it cheaper and safer. Here it is 5 years later and I still hear about 50/50 good and bad...and they're still in business. It may be risky to experiment with D.S.E., but with Diesel at 4.50 a gallon in S.D. county, i'm enthusiastic about it.
Thanks for replying Bat Boy,
I've only known one person that used DSE personally. They used it in a Ford cargo van (box truck style). They had IP failure within 15k miles. Replacement price was ~$1k. There's also suspision of injector damage, but I haven't spoken with the owner in a while.
It seems you've done your reading and are aware of the risks - that's really the function of this thread.
WELL IT'S BEEN 30 days now since i sent there "seceret juce", back too them witch BUY THE WAY.....is just , ........"mineral spirits"....!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BIO DIESEL IS CHEEPER......TO MAKE....!!!!!!!!
Worning is spelled Warning and anyone who is using D.S.E. including me knows that when you first purchase their little concoction of "mineral spirits" , that what you are really paying for is the knowledge to make cheap fuel on your own. It does'nt take a rocket scientist to figure out that their additive is the smallest amout of quantity in the so called "ratio". The next time you are pumping over expensive diesel fuel into your tank....just take a look at it. It's way too thin...diesel's love lube and were designed to run on veg. oil to begin with. Granted...you dont wanna f#*k up and have "IP failure and injector problems...hmmm...why not just dillute it with a little petro clowns. Even if you put 10 gallons of D.S.E. at a time your still savin like 45.00 every time you gotta fill up. Listen up...diesel is the least refined fuel out there and the reason it's getting so expensive is cause the bloodsuckers know that more folks are buying diesels. Me, as a contractor needs a full sized truck and I will gladly take 15-20 miles a gallon over 8-10 in a V8 full size..for some reason they're not stupid and figured...let's just f#*k them at the pump. I don't really take kindly to gettin f#*ked any more....don't be sissies and try a little D.S.E. Hugs and Kisses, B-Boy
