White Smoke at Startup '07 CTD

I have an 07 Dodge Ram 3500 with 5.9l Cummins Turbo Diesel.

I have been using B20 fairly regularly since new and now have over 10,000 miles on the truck.. I have tried B100 a couple of times.  Both times I fill up with B100, I still had about 5-7 gallons of ULSD in the 34 gallon tank. (I fill from a commercial Bio-Diesel manufacturer/supplier, not garage made) I filled up and drove about 5 miles home for the night.

The next morning, I start the truck and clouds of white smoke billows out the tail pipe and engine idols rough. I wait a few minutes to warm up, but still billowing white smoke, I drive off and after a couple minutes the smoke goes away. Same thing the next morning. I top it off with ULSD and no more white smoke.

This happened both times with what might end up being B75-B80. Does anyone else with a 5.9L CTD billow clouds of white smoke until the engine is up to temp? What could be the cause of the white smoke? What can I do to prevent it?

I got a 07 2500 And have been running on b100 since 32mi on the odo. After a while of using home brew, i was getting the same results as you said, So I tried the ulsd at a b50 ratio and it helped out with power service diesel kleen. Now I won't run without the diesel kleen period! The diesel kleen brings the b100 milage back up to dino standards, and i have yet to have another problem with rough idle, and poor milage. I use a half quart every time I fill up ,So a quart will last 2 fill ups, so it equals $3 per fill up, Cheap insurance! Since the cold has set in, I've been blending with k1 kero,at about b85 and been good to 28 degrees so far, also switched to diesel fuel supplement (basically diesel kleen with antigel added).

Thanks for the info.  Another person suggested that I had bought biodiesel that wasn't properly dried. I'm guessing that since you make your own you are confident that you are thoroughly drying the fuel?

I don't know what to think anymore.  Why do yours and mine and only a handful of others billow white smoke; seems most everyone else has no issues. Is the only soloution for us to burn greater blend of dino diesel or use additives?
