Greetings to all,
I have formed a LLC and have aquired fed, state and local grant monies to purshace some equipment to produce approx. 8 mgy. I have attended numerous seminars across the USA and India and if I knew then what I know now, I may not have started on this "long strange trip". If you choose to produce for personal use, great. But when you take the Big Bite and go for broke, every regulating agency wants to poke their nose in and I believe, are looking for ANY reason to shut us down. Now remember now, we haven't produces one ounce of B100 to date, but have expended over 350K to date. Our LLC is headquartered in Newark, DE and have optioned a structere with a rail spur. All I want to convey to anyone out there who is looking to jump-in with both feet, be prepared for massive government interference. This in not to mention that the residential home heating oil distributers are lobbying to make sure our type of operations are not profitable so that they can maintain their dominance of the market.
In closing, I WILL NOT SUCCUMB TO BIG BOTHER. I had my arse shot-up and shot-down while in combat and I certainly am not going to intimidated by some local oil distrubutors who think they can use their political pressure to deny our LLC the licenses and permits that we have already know have passed the most stringent reguirements. Iowa State University is an absolute "Goldmine" when it comes to the Biofuel business. If you have ANY inclination of going into this business, plan on at leat 3 years of research, seminars, business plan development, outlay of capital without any return initially and last but not least, TIME...lots and lots of TIME. We expected to have out autocad designs approved by last January, but NCC just drags on and on and on....I will give it one more year (thats all the capital including the venture capital and grants that I will have) and then go Chapter 7 with it.
My advise from someone in the trenches is, keep it small for individual use. If you use heating oil for your home heating, I say go for it. With all of the talk today of needing this product, their is an extreme group of individuals who DO NOT WANT this amount of Biofuel produced in Northern Delaware. But, as a S.F. soldier, I will never give up...until I'm broke!!!
GOOD LUCK TO ALL WHO ASPIRE TO PRODUCE THE FUTURE OF FUEL.
