    large centrifuge in eastern PA

Ok, we bought a large MAB 104 centrifuge unit to clean our oil. I wanted to see if anyone wants to have us clean and de water their oil?  We would charge a small fee to help off set the cost of the machine. We also have our Dieselcraft OC 5o with the stand and pimps and extra rotors. It works great just we have out grown the unit. It is three months old and only used for two months.

Nice! How much the Alfa Laval cost you? How effective has it proven in removing suspended water? bound / total water? Have you done a Karl Fischer on the cleaned oil?

Re: large centrifuge in eastern PA

I take delivery next week. The unit was a small car, but we need it for the volume we are doing. I have not come up with a price for the service as of yet. We are not looking to kill anyone but if we can offer it and make a little towards the payment of the machine it will help. It is like our national methanol and lye account. We opened our account to the other brewers to buy. We are able to shop the account around for the best ossible price now. We are a large account all together. In Washington state the methanol was 6. and change and now the guys that buy with us pay $3.21 per gallon like we do here. The price is to go down the first of the month again. Lye is better now to. NaOH .88 per pound KoH $1.24 per pound all delivered for that price. So what I was thinking is with the centrifuge getting a bunch of local brewers and svo guys and charge a little to clean and de water the oil. The machine can do more than I use in a month very quickly. So why not open it up to others in the area? Now with the methanol and lye I do not make or charge anything. But with the centrifuge we would charge a small fee towards the electric and the machine and the brewer could help  and provide the labor. We are not looking to make a huge profit with this, just help a few guys and help us pay for the machine. Just an idea, I open to suggestions!
