Hello juicer; Glad to see more people taking the leap! As far as store bought reactors go---- I am partial to Extreme Biodiesel's product in the $3000-3500 range. On the other end there is an all stainless steel reactor (around $8000) that has a good reputation. Many people, myself included, built their own systems. Their is a lot of info out there (see apleseed reactor, Girl Mark) Frank

thanks for the reply Frank, I would love to build my own but of course am not fully confident it would work as well as a store bought one. I am an electrical contractor and have a welding shop and all of the tools and space necessary just would need plans and such.  I'd like to build at least an 80 gallon processor w/ poly tanks. Any info on plans would be great thanks, Joe

I have a Biopro 150 on order as we speak Yes The dealer here in Fresno for the Biopro is real nice and you should see his set up to get a idea.

    Juicer,

As are you, I am here in Fresno and kicking the tires on building a system.  With the shop, room and equipment you describe, I would definitely build my own instead of buying.

As far as store bought models go, I have seen only one up and running here in Fresno.  It is from this company  http://homebiodiesel.com/processor/ but not the model pictured here.  The one I have seen is a 40 gallon system.

Being semi-retired, I probably have more time than brains but biodiesel does pique my interest (along with other forms of alternate energy).   My yearly usage is not huge and so the amount of money saved is of secondary interest to the principle of alternate energy.

Have you checked out the resources on the web such as the following?

Appleseed Plans;  Crude but workable.  http://www.biodieselcommunity.org/appleseedprocessor/

Construction plans for biodiesel plants.  http://www.murphysmachines.com/

Other suppliers and plans sources.  http://www.b100supply.com/Default.asp?Click=1&Redirected=Y   http://www.utahbiodieselsupply.com/

I might be able to get you in to see the system mentioned above in use.  Will ask this week-end and all he can say is no which is likely.

Would be interested in getting together with you to see if we might be in a good mutual aid type of situation.

    R.S.
