I have also been looking at kits. Last month 18 hrs a day on internet… I need to get started, but the more research, the more questions and the more I tweak my thinking.
I’m concluding, the kits are nice, but if you are going to be the master of your task, you need to build your system to suit your particular process.
The only kits I like, cost WAY too much, (for me) and if these guys (Selling the kits) are such “Experts” at Bio-Production, then why are they building kits when they could be processing Bio?
No offence intended, but I’m getting a tad cynical on this entire Bio-Kits and the Bio-Hype.
Understand; I still intend to produce Bio… and have visions of SELLING on a limited basis.
I’m looking at an operation in which I consume my Co-Product (Glycerin) for my personal energy needs (Heat) and sell the Bio to supplement my income.
As I become more confident in my FAME and pass ASTM testing… AND when Jeep (2009 model?) comes with a 100% B100 Approved Turbo Diesel, I will mothball the (3) Gasoline Vehicles and burn my own Fuel.
But not until my processing facility is permitted, and I am ready to start reporting my road use; it is not worth gambling and getting a fine for Tax-Evasion.
With 1,000 gallons a month secured, I’m concentrating on finding additional feedstock. Feedstock is the key (from what I see) once I’ve secured a net 3,000 gallons per month steady supply, I’ll begin fabrication. No need to build if there is no product to process.
I expect to have the other 2,000 gallons lined up within the next week or two. Secondary supply/source may also develop into much more than 2,000/mo. So I need to confirm that… Then I can size my collection/delivery vehicle, reactor & storage accordingly.
Anyhow… good luck with your decision and perhaps someone else with WAY more experience than I will reply with better help for you.
