Hello all! I am looking for a reliable Ford truck motor for a conversion to biodiesl. Now, i have a 1993 mercury grand marquis (which is currently a 4.6L SOHC ) and i'll be doing a motor and possibly tranny swap. I know the 7.3 will fit, because ive seen 2 other marqius with it in them. now i know the 6.0L powerstroke is a great motor, but ive heard that its a bit finicky about the fuel. I will be making my own fuel using WVO. I am mechanically inclined and have access to tools and the means to fabricate all this. I drive 28 miles to work everyday and its begining to kill my wallet. i love driving. Alot. And i love my tank. When i get back from overseas, i have 2 weeks off, which is a bunch of time to do the conversion. and if this proves successful, my girlfriend and i are going to put a 2.0L turbodiesel in her 73 VW Bug. which is great because she approved of this biodiesel thing taking up 2 of the bays in the garage. so...
what would your choice of motor be? 6.0L or 7.3L?
thank you tons!
