    Engine life with biodiesel

I was just told today that biodiesel will shorten the life of a diesel engine. The person told there a company that runs all of their fleet on biodiesel told him that they have shorter life on their truck engines.  Has there been any research on this?

     Thanks,

    Will

    Re: Engine life with biodiesel

That's completely wrong. If anything, biodiesel will increase engine life due to its massively superior lubricating properties. There have been studies that show a definite increase in engine life and decrease in engine wear with even a b5 blend.

     Interesting,

only if a report could be made available rather then a hear say situation .

Ask, and ye shall receive: here's a report showing exactly what I said (it's a PDF).

Great, that is what I wanted to know.  It didn't seem right to me but I wanted to check.
