Methanol recovery.

I have just about finished my biodiesel reactor. I plan on doing methanol recovery with

a vacuum pump and condenser. I tested the system and the most reading I could get was

-3"/Hg. Will this be enough vacuum to pull the methanol vaper down through the condenser?

The vacuum pump is 1/2 Hp. Should I upgrade the pump?

The condenser consist of 1/2" copper pipe surrounded by 3/4" cold water pipe about 3.5' long.

Any help would be greatly  appreciated.
