Ford Vader:We just bought a '99 F350 crewcab (7.3L) with 160,000 mi on it. I'm wondering if the truck will need anything replaced
besides the fuel filter when I start filling it up with BD? I have no idea of knowing how 'coated' the fuel system is now, so I'm just
a little hesitant to clog up anything.
As with anything, make sure you use quality fuel. I have a 99 with the same engine and I have had no problems on GOOD QUALITY BD. I had a couple batches I bought that were a bit shad, though I was also blending at that point because I couldn't get more BD for a while and the dino I had in was from a station that might be shady, and I had to replace the fuel pump and 2 of the injectors... Not a cheap fix. But other than that, the engine runs, idles, and sounds better on BD.
