Come see us at Houston Biodiesel. We thought a co-op was the way to go but decided just to open a business selling B100. I couldn't find much support near IAH airport for a co-op. A co-op can be excellent depending upon how you have it set up. I'd be happy to share my thoughts with you. We have a pretty good sized homebrew setup on warehouse racks plus a three stage gravity feed wash. Call me during business hours. 281/443-9009. Chris

Hello, biodiesel fans I am very interested in a co-op or any cooperative effort. I am the Webmaster for Safe Fuels (http://www.safe-fuels.com) and would be somewhat familiar with biodiesel. I would like to hear from anyone that is interested in starting a co-op or a commercial biodiesel plant in the Houston area. I am located in Webster, TX, on the south side of Houston, near Clear Lake. I do not work for Safe Fuels but work closely with them on their Web site and other projects. Cheers ... Dale

I have been trying to start a small biodiesel operation for sales in my area around Webster, TX, and also for use in my own car as I drive a 1984 Mercedes 300D. I have a location available but need to get the right equipment to safely handle biodiesel. I also work on Mercedes, BMW, Volkswagen, and other european cars including the diesel versions as our auto repair shop caters to all european models. Any pros, cons, do's, don'ts, for equipment and suppliers are welcome. Paul Humason phumason@ev1.net

I am also working on a bioD setup. I have a 10,000sqft warehouse in the industrial area just north of downtown. I plan to produce fuel for net metering and use in my truck, backhoe, etc... We should start a user group of something for the Houston area...? Thomas

Greetings. We're looking at forming a co-op in the Friendswood area. Was out at Houston Biodiesel today. They've got a great setup, just a little long to drive out there. If anyone has experience with a co-op, would sure like to hear from you.

Yesterday I was at Houston Biodiesel located at 2970 Farrell Rd. They have a little biodiesel processing station setup for training purposes. They are planning to have a 'how to' party on a weekend this fall. Find more info at www.houstonbiodiesel.com BTW, I filled up with B99 for $2.75 per gallon. B100 is $3.00 per gallon. Update: Just noticed Chris at Houstonbiodiesel already posted. [:D] MikeyB

Went to Houston Biodiesel yesterday, ran it for the first time. Going to build a processor, trying to secure some oil resources today. Houston Biodiesel should have some sort of open house, when we could all meet there.

okay folks, There is alot of talk about a co-op, how bout someone spelling it out for a newbie. What exactly is a co-op, how does it operate, financialy and physicaly, what is required in terms of money from each memeber, what other requirements are there. Chris at houston bio-diesel said he had some ideas, I'd sure like to hear'm.
