Well If we are going to make a San Diego Coop start up we have a lot to discuss. And if you are intrested we should set up a meeting and look in to this as a group and pool our tallants. I have had a few local business operators that are intrested too that contacted me. in the last week or so. I am not shure howc to go about this but I am willling to provide some materials and labor to get this set up or we will have to fight the rendring companies by our selves. Re: San Diego Biodiesel Coop

I Just got this E-mail today Hello There are some questions that seem to be recurring so I will try to answer them. The costs all depend on the amount of people willing to start it up. In terms of a meeting time I don’t know what people’s schedules look like so I don’t know how hard it will be to find some time. I am thinking either a weekend time or after work. In terms of burning questions I think we need to decide whether just to set up a bulk buying program or actually produce our own. If we produce then whether WVO or SVO and what type of equipment to use where to do it what type of blends etc. In terms of time table though I would like to get most of the burning questions and get some actionable steps by late October and defiantly before the Thanksgiving Holiday. Given the response I have been getting the population seems to be centered in Mission Valley or something I want it to be convenient for the bulk of users. Thank you, Jeffrey [sandiegobiodiesel@hotmail.com] Jeffrey is looking for local Brewers here in San Diego to set up a meeting so go ahead and drop him a Email. I am new to blogging, but not to biodiesel. I'm a long time resident of North County, run my TDI BEETLE on B99, and am interested in a biodiesel coop. Also, if anybody has input on towing a teardrop trailer with a 1.9L TDI, I'd like to hear from you... MD matriot@sbcglobal.net Michael P. Deegan

    Re: San Diego Biodiesel Coop

Allow me to offer my services to folks building the right biodiesel initiative. I am a seasoned manager with experience in financial services and technology businesses. I am interested in a career change of sorts, mostly driven by morality and a sense of adventure, but also because of what I see as an emerging market for a VERY compelling product - B100 at the pump, of course! I'd like to talk with anyone that is serious about forming a REAL biodiesel coop in southern California (no dreamers or pie-in-the-sky types, please). I bring to the table end-to-end product management and business administration - marketing strategy, product planning and promotion, P&L responsibility, and a great network of outsourced public relations professionals who can make a Biodiesel Coop look like a more compelling alternative to petroleum-based fuels. I have 10 years of experience working for banks, as an independent market analyst, as a technology consultant, and as a technical marketing professional for a rapid-growth software vendor. I would be most ideally coupled with a talented engineer-type (who would own physical plant & production) and a finance wonk (who would own accounting & finance). Together I'm sure we can grow the initiative to its fullest potential. Please contact me at dmb038@hotmail.com if you are aware of any biodiesel initiatives that could use my help.

Well its the new year and one of my resolutions is to get this coop off the ground. You will have to forgive my for my hiatus during the holidays. I am commited to biodiesel in San Diego and hopefully I will find many more likeminded people.

If anyone is interested in more information please dont hesitate to email me at sandiegobiodiesel@hotmail.com

    Thank you

If you can get about 20 people interested in biodiesel (B99.9) it might be possible to become a satellite to the LA Biodiesel co-op ( http://biodiesel-coop.org/ ) We currently have three facilities supplying B99.9 to our members, all under one umbrella organization. Contact: membership@sustainableoptions.com for more information.

    Re: San Diego Biodiesel Coop

If anyone is interested, I just purchased a BioPro 380. We can make 300 gals. a week, perfect for a unofficial coop. This machine was purchased for personal use but we are interested in selling off any excess product. My business partner and I have been tossing around ideas on how to obtain enough feed-stock for 300 gal a week production. We thought about selling a memberships. The fee would be a commitment to provide the coop with 20 gal of feed-stock a week. 10 to 15 members would be about max. If anyone in San Diego is interested, please contact me at 619 944-8283 or email at shawn@sandiegosashcompany.com Shawn.

Are they requiring BUSINESS license or a RESELLER'S license?  If they're not charging tax, I'm guessing it's a reseller's license.  That's a great find, though.  Last I checked it was $7/gallon at the VW performance shop in San Marcos.
