For those of you that haven't done it before - the group buy is a money saver and the facility in New Britain will load the drum(s) right into you vehicle for you....  Finding methanol on our own can be a royal pain.

My name is Pete and I'm new to this forum and pretty inexperienced with making biodiesel.  However, I have made a few several gallon batches, made a processor and washer, and driven and maintained my Mercedes diesel for 11 years.  I'd like to buy a drum of methanol and a bag of KOH to get started.  I've just made an agreement to start collecting oil at a local restaurant, so I'll certainly have the need for 1 drum pretty soon. I haven't had much luck finding methanol locally, I just about gave up when I stubled upon this forum.  Hope I can join in.  Let me know how I can help.

I was wondering if any more MeOH group buys are going to happen any time soon. I am in the Groton/NL and would def be interested in a couple of barrels. I have made about 250 gallons so far and am going to need some more MeOH soon.

Hi Dtelep, I"m interested in one of each.  I live in Marlborough and i was trying to get some extra oil and i went to China Dragon in East Hampton and the owner's son said that some guy was there before and took some oil but was never interested in it.  Was that you?  If yes, how come, is it because it was really acid?  Just out of curiosity do you remember the PH level on it?

I'm not sure I can or want to handle the increasing demand for methanol on this board.  I would suggest some other folks start another group.  It's really quite easy.  All you need is a commercial site willing to accept delivery.  I'd be happy to provide information on companies around that sell bulk methanol and caustic.

Oh, BTW, this is dtelep with a new handle.  Forgot by bloody password - got way too many of them.

I am a beginner at this, both biodiesel and forums. I'm looking for some hands on, or at least eyes on experience. Once I get my processor up and running, I will need local access to methanol etc. New Britain would be very easy for me, living in Newington. Please let me know if you want to share some of your knowledge and tips/hints on making biodiesel Thanks.

 When is the next group purchase of Methanol and KOH / NaOH.  I'm just getting set up to start building my appleseed setup and and am looking for some methanol and KOH.  If I can get in on a group buy at a discounted rate that would be awesome!

Good morning folks. As I stated 12/17, I'm new at this but very eager to get started. It seems to me a lot of people are interested in a group buy of methanol. I would be willing to put in the time and effort, but I don't know anyone with a loading dock and forklift. If anyone has or knows of somebody with a dock and forklift that would be willing to store a few barrels for a few days until everyone picks theirs up, please let me know. Wethersfield, Newington, New Britain, West Hartford, Hartford, there must be someone with the desire, space and equipment to help us out.

I have not checked on any prices yet. I really think it would be better to have a place to have barrels delivered, hence, a more accurate price.

I have made two batches one 1st lt ,2nd 2 gallon success on both.don't want to wash ;to much work...want to buy the dry wash processor instead... so on...you guys know were i'm standing.  Any body out there willing to help? many thanks...GOD BLESS.
