Does this seem right to anyone?  Methanol by the drum $327.00?  pushes fuel cost way over $1.00 it would seem to me.

Methanol prices have more than doubled for us over the winter months. If you make fuel, it's worth stocking up during the fall, before the seasonal demands change. I'm exploring production with Ethanol as it' notably cheaper (even when considering the greater quantity needed) and more abundant here in Wisconsin farm country.

Methanol is 3.21 a gallon on Long Island by drum comes to $176.00 plus tax is around $196.00.

Makes about 250 to 270 gallons of biodiesel.

Are those prices current? I wish I could find that pricing. Normal non-winter pricing is $2.34/gallon here; currently, pricing >$5/gallon. At that $3.21 / gallon, it's almost worth freighting some barrels in. Could you provide the contact information for the seller?

That is about the best price I have heard by about 85 dollars.  Could you share the supplier?  I'ld really appreciate the info.

Yes, I'd also be willing to drive to Long Island for that price. 

Bitner Automotive in Trenton has it for around $5.47 a gallon (bring your own gas can or buy a 5 gallon one there for $26.50). Extreme Machines on Rt 33 outside Hightstown has it for $73.09 for 5 gallons, Raceway Park sells it but I have been unable to contact them yet. I also heard of a company in Trenton called Ensingners (sp) but can't find a number to call.

I'm new here to the forum but would like to start making biodiesel and am located in Long Island NY.  Can you send me the contact information of the company that you buy methanol from. If you have a lsit of a couple of different locations that would also be great. Just out of curiosity, what are you currently paying per gallon now?   Any information would be greatly appreciated.
