Bob and I at the Biofuelclinic will be hosting a hands on biodiesel seminar on July 26, 2008. We will be covering biodiesel basics. We will be titrating lot's of oil so we encourage you to bring oil samples with you. You will make hands on mini batches as well. There will be a biopro demonstration as well.The seminar will be in Avon New York which is just South of Rochester.Here is a rough outline of what is covered:
Explaining the differences between SVO,solvent thinning, and biodiesel Brief overview of the diesel engine Safety guidelines for making biodiesel Basic chemistry of making biodiesel Collection options and tips for finding/keeping wvo sources.Titration of WVO and determining good oil from bad Importance of having water free oil Processing procedures and tips Glycerine by product removal and disposal Water washing procedures and tips Drying procedures and tips Processor designs These seminars are hands on as you will test oil and make mini batches. We encourage you to bring oil The Biopro demonstration is an added bonus, and isn't the sole function of the seminar.
