In West Oz, we are planning to visit a couple of regional centers to promote local coops taking ownership of some of their fuel infrastructure. We plan to have Regional TV coverage of the events and if possible link them with your TV reporters, for background to your TV coverage. In Western Australia, we are on GMT +8, so that would put our 12Noon as US Eastern Time = 11pm & Pacific Time = 8pm - is that right? This should be to your advantage, to have international TV footage promoting biodiesel 11 hours before your event starts. Please keep me informed, and I will do likewise. Therefore, if the Australia handoff is at noon on Saturday, August 16th it will be 4pm here in Hawaii (HST) on Friday, August 15th and 7pm on the 15th in California (PDT). We will need about 2 hours to drive up the mountain from the sea. Post it on the Board under Bios on Biodiesel Lovers 3) Begin working on a short statement about why you feel Biodiesel is important (just in case someone along the way should ask you). 4) Central-West, North-West, Michigan, North-East People please elect or appoint Area Coordinators and have them contact me ASAP! 5) Australia-Hawaii-West Coast City Kickoff People. Please confer with each other about your virtual handoffs and how you want to handle that; formats, web cams, time of day and zone and when you can hold a practice run or two...I'd hate to get to August 16th and not be able to get things up and running. Send me this info ASAP in case I need to give it to the media people. 6) I am working on six banners (one for each team) to be used as relay "batons". Is Jim still going through the south, or is he heading up to Denver to meet up with the central route? Also, what does the northwest group think about hooking up with the central route somewhere (to eliminate the gaps).

Andy Reldnew has made available a pre-press release for us. Check it out on the site. Not so Good News: Fred Volgemeir from Fred's TDI will no longer be able to help with the kick off in the NW. (He has to leave to prepare for the Fest before that). Excellent News: We have over 75 people involved (last count) and more volunteering every day! This is shaping up to be a very fun way to GET THE WORD OUT! WE WANT BiodieselNOW! TO DOs: 1) Contact your LL and/or ACs and confirm your route. 2) Notify your friends, relatives and local communities so they can come out and lend you support. 3) Put your Bio info on the Site. 4) Get you vinyl stickers, banners, flags, posters and signage READY!
