Demand for Biodiesel in north Alabama

If there was a small biodiesel refinery in north Alabama i just want to know about how much demand would there be?

I plan to purchase a TDI Bettle in the next month or 2 and have really been scouring the 'net in hopes of finding someone selling biodiesel in my area ( 40 miles NW of B'ham). Count me as a loud, strong "yes" for biodiesel!! Please make it available before I am reduced to making my own [:o)]

I have just purchased a Jeep Liberty diesel and am looking for a source. The nearest I've found is Lawrenceburg or Pulaski, Tn. I hope to find a source for B5, B10, or B20.

I am working on opening a small buisness in about 6 months in Hartselle, Al. selling biodiesel for personal and commersial use.

I'm in Florence. Do you plan to have blended fuels or SWO?

I might just start out only makeing B100 and as buisness grows I'll star making other blends. SWO?

Sorry, typo. SVO ( Straight vegetable oil).

Myself and two neighbors burn about 450 gallons of fuel a week. We live west of Cullman and would LOVE to be running some bio. '01 Dodge 3500

There is a manufacturer outside of Tuscaloosa called Alabama Biodiesel. I believe that they are selling to a couple of oil supply companies outside of Birmingham. I have been researching them and several others for supply to run a power turbine. Several companies on the GA/AL border also selling. Catfish

I am working with another gentleman to build a test reactor in Priceville. We are looking to establish a larger reactor to supply the school buses in the county eventually. Anyone with experience or time would be welcome to participate.

Update: OK, I am about 50% of the way to completing my reactor. Like everything else I do, I overkill..LOL I have designed it to run a 30 gallon batch in 2 hours using ultrasonic techniques. I hope to have it ready for test by Halloween. Right now, I have all the automation equipment, valves, pumps, small tanks, etc. Still need to get the stainless pipe & fittings, IBC's, a trailer to put it all on. Money and E-Bay are my limiting factors right at the moment.

Where are you guys buying methanol now?

The methanol market is currently complicated due to a plant shut-down in Trinidad. It should smooth out around mid to late November. In the mean time, good luck getting methanol if you are a "small guy." I might be able to help you out though. How much are you needing?

I live in Madison and am a member of a local 4x4 Club. There are at least 6 members with diesel trucks in the Huntsville area that would be interested in buying BD if it was convenient and comparable in price to regular diesel. Al
