Are you seeing Mercedes CDI ML 320 or GL 320 SUVs yet?

  • Mercedes ML320 CDII'm not sure how many new Mercedes CDI ML and GL SUV diesels are out on the road, but I've not seen too many around Ohio? (took this photo today while traveling in Akron Ohio -- larger image)

I like the slightly larger size, but suspect the price is going to take it into the VW Touareg V-10 diesel land? I might just have to tool down to my local MB dealer and take a test drive ... just to see if the new body style and CDI engine are a good match for the smaller ML and the larger GL. I did test drive the R wagon 'gasser' when if first came out and thought it drove 'smaller' than it really is ... its a big vehicle!

I know its important that all the new models 'focus' on the ULSD, but haven't heard much about them running on biodiesel?

  • Nope.  I'm holding out for a Diesel Rubicon Unlimited, anyway.  It may cause a little marital strife.  However, if the initial buyers don't report any significant problems I'll be buying one the second model year they are out.  I heard someone refer the the Rubicon Unlimited as "like a Hummer, but good"  LOL
  •  I have an ML320 CDI and Mercedes just busted me for using bio and voided my fuel line warranty. This is after I have been in three times with fuel pressure problems and such. Might not be the best choice for bio.
