Hello All,
I own a '99 Ford F350 with the 7.3 Powerstroke diesel engine and have recently experienced tremendous powerloss (between 25-40%).
I asked a mechanic, and after assuring him it couldn't be the fuel filter since I just changed it he said that it's probably the "fuel pick-up system" form the tank. This would be a big job because the tank would have to be dropped and a new kit will have to be installed.
Is this possible? And could this have anything to do with using B100, (although I have been using petro diesel for the last 4 months?
Thanks in advance,
Thomas
I have two Ford E 350's an 88 and a 93 both with 7.3 and the lift pump is on the passenger side of the engine not in the tank .
Ford being so anti biodiesel makes sure that biodiesel will be a problem . Every piece of rubber in the fuel system is not biodiesel compatible all the fuel return lines will turn to tar in time and the rubber in the lift pump will fail in less then a year . I have been running them on B100 for about 5 years and change that pump at least once a year .
