  • Hi, Biodiesel is now available in the Philippines marketed as an additive to dino-diesel in 200ml bottles by local gas companies. They recommended a blend of 1 %. I have been using biodiesel for my Mitsubishi van for over 2 years now. I get my biodiesel from a backyard producer. His feedstock is from used coconut oil and a little animal fats. Hope to hear from you too. Noel
  • Where do you buy your biodiesel in Philippines ? Is it available in the provinces ? What's the price per liter ?
  • Mr.Nash, Iam from India and really happy to read your post and the mention of your use of Bio-diesel in Phillipines for the past 2years. well, what is the kind of process do you have any idea on your Bio-diesel and are you sure that it is from waste or used coconut oil? what about the future of your country in Bio-Diesel and why do not you continue to share some time in the forum and with more informations on the avialability of oils and potential for exports if any?K1
  • hi, im from manila, and i would like to know your source of biodiesel so i can purchase for my diesel car.
  • Bio Diesel makes a lot of sense anywhere. Europe is way ahead of ASEAN. Every signatory to the Kyoto Accords )including Philippines) must now start to fight pollution that is killing our planet and ourselves. Jatropha, a poisonous plant, is indeed a good feedstock. So is used cooking oil! Hello Jollibee, KFC, McDonalds and every other restaurant in this wonderful country.
  • Mr.biodieselbob, I would like to have your clarifications on jatropha. You said in your post that it is poisinous but at the same time used in Restuarents for cooking? Please confirm how a poisinous oil be used for cooking?K1

  • I started manufacture biodiesel CME. My friend provide me the technology, we build small reactor with capacity of 300liters per bacht. i think this is the time for us not to depend on oil import.
  • Sorry for the late reply. I source my Biodiesel from a home brewer. Average production is 200 liters per batch. The price is PHP 50.00 per liter and PHP 200.00 per US gallon. It is available in Pasig, Metro Manila. The producer also home delivers. Here is my cell phone if you are interested.. +63917-854-0626
  • hi noelnash, The price is very reasonable compare to branded CME product. this CME is DoE accredited? thanks
  • hi, my name is sandy santos and interstingly enough, i got to this site. our company is the manufacturer of cocobiodiesel here in the phil. we are accredited with the dep't of energy. the brand name of biodiesel is Estrol Biodiesel. i had the opportunity of having to be one of those that pioneered biodiesel in the country and to where the 1%blend to gov't vehicles as mandated is at. may i caution users of the backyard biodiesel being produced and sold. You see, you have to go through and consistently pass the standards set by DOE otherwise, you do not have a clue of the TG ( total glycerine ) and other properties that may clog the injector nozzles. the reason why there is an accreditation is to protect the quality of biodiesel in the market place. my advisse for the small producer is to accredit themselves with the Dep't. of ENERGY. this way, the small producers will not be afraid of any consequence that may arise due to non compliance with standards and even avoid on complaints. we have dealers around the country. you may call our office for info ( and even become a dealer ) 632 772 40 65 look for rhea or myself. it's really fortunate that GOD gave us coconuts instead of apples. happy biomotoring !
  • Mr.sandy. I want to know the cost of CNO meant for export either in Dollars/INR.Then what is the Glcerine recovry from your process should be the highest one and could you please tell us the use of Glycerine in Phillipines. Coconut is also an important crop in India and the present oil price is around60000/MtINR.say 1250USD.Therefore,we are looking for the discarded kernals which almost 50% of the pure oil price. Therefore, please could you inform us the availability of discarded kernals and oils.
  • i would like to know how to make biodiesel from used cooking oil.

  • I suggest that you buy your biodiesel made by reputable manufacturers. Backyard processed biodiesel may not always meet Philippine national standards, or ASTM standards, and European standards which require a range of quality specifications. Among other things, it must have a very low residual free and residual methanol content. Glycerine not meeting specs. can cause engine corrosion and premature fuel filter blockages. Make sure that your supplier is registered with the Dept. of Energy and the product carries a registration number to ensure that it meets national standards.

The specs. mentioned should be free and total glycerine content.
  • I have already tried BioAktiv (product of Chemrez, hotline 6359000). Their price is a bit high, above a hundred pesos a liter. I am now trying the Estrol Biodiesel (made by Senbel Fine Chemicals, and can be contacted through Sandy thru 772-4065). A bit cheaper than BioAktiv. I am looking for other suppliers. I will post any new finds for those interested. If you know other reputed biodiesel makers, post them in this forum. dodogalindo is right in saying that biodiesel should be acquired from reputed makers. I am not saying that backyard makers cannot make good-quality biodiesel. There are many websites showing homebrewers making high-quality biodiesel being used in vans and trucks. Until one can be sure of the quality of home-brewed biodiesel in the Philippines, it is best to use the products of DOE-accredited manufacturers. Time for us to begin patronizing this renewable fuel. We help support the coco industry and retain foreign currency being used to import fossil fuel. We are nearing the point where oil prices will be too steep for a lot of Filipinos. Biodiesel will help alleviate this.
  • well said my friend! BioDiesel is the better weapon to protect ourselves from Guriellas who often strike with nasty Petroleum! cococnut is the only crop which ensure total sacrifice to the benefits of human. It is better to grow a coconut tree instead of giving birth to (terrorist) child who kill our own Brothers and sisters. Bhadrinath.
  • Hello. My first post here. Has anyone tried the commercially produced biodiesel by "Flying V"? They sell it for 30 Php/Liter locally.
  • Can we use bioodiesel as a total replacement for regular diesel? I have found in some reports that some people in the US are able to use 100percent Biodiesel...
