Dear Leslie,

We have several range of Jatropha seeds and seedlings which are originally from sub-tropical wild Jatropha curcas. We have done the genetic modification to suit different environment in tropical and sub-tropical regions. In general, our seeds and seedlings are not suitable for temperature that is less than 1 degree celsius.

Jatropha plants are bi-annual and shed their leaves once a year. It grows extremely fast and during a span of 4-5 years it attains a height of around 4 metres. The leaves are heart shaped, and there are 3-5 lobes in the leaves. The flowers grow at the end of the branch in the form of a bunch and are green and yellow in colour. The plant should flowers all year round in tropical region, 9 to 10 months in sub-tropical region. The fruit of Jatropha is capsule shaped which is green initially. After ripening it turns yellow and finally it attains black colour. Every fruit contains 3 to 4 seeds and in 1 kg, there are normally 1200 to 1500 seeds.

Please specify how many kilograms you wish to purchase for cultivation. We can also provide seeds for oil extraction long term as well.
