  •  India has lost thepre-eminent position asa Leader in Jatropha plantations due to the gross failure of our main agri-Universities.

    Now Japan is pumping billions of dollars into Asia Regions like Myanmar , cambodia vietnam etc.

    we have still millions of wasted lands.

    Now is the time.

    Another source of biofuels is Bamboo planations..

    Bamboo carbonisation industries in the world are able to get both metahne and Vinegar...

    Research should be done in promoting Bamboo

    Bamboo plantations will sequester co2 well and as per studies

      I like bamboo alot better than Jb. There is still a concern about water use but my guess is that bamboo's have a much better value chain than does Jb.

    Your right, you can use various technologies to convert green bamboo biomass into solid, liquid and gas fuels. The question isnt that you can do it, the question is how much can you grow the biomass and transport it to a central location for?

    Do you have a species that is of particular interest?

    I know there is a good amount of value chain that can go along with bamboo, like structural materials. Maybe a nice value chain can be developed to utilize all of the crop of bamboo that can support the operation. Corn has a very developed value chain as does Soybean. This is one of the reason why they both command a relatively high price.
